Afghanistan, May 9 -- The U.S. military said on Saturday that American forces carried out a strike against a suspected drug-smuggling vessel in the eastern Pacific Ocean, killing two people.

In a statement, the military said the operation targeted what it described as "narco-terrorists" aboard the vessel on Friday, adding that the boats were allegedly transporting illegal drugs.

The incident is part of a broader crackdown launched by Washington against drug trafficking networks since the start of President Donald Trump's second term.
