Afghanistan, July 22 -- US forces carried out their 11th consecutive night of strikes against Iran, with explosions reported in Tehran, Tabriz and other parts of the country as Washington seeks to weaken Iran's military capabilities and its ability to threaten commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said the latest strikes targeted Iranian military operations centres, maritime capabilities, aircraft hangars, drone storage facilities and military logistics infrastructure.

CENTCOM said the strikes were intended to further degrade Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping in the strategic waterway, a major route for global energy supplies.
