Afghanistan, May 27 -- Afghanistan War Commission announced leadership changes on May 27, naming Neilesh Shelat as interim executive director following the transition of Jaime Cheshire to a senior advisor role.
Commission co-chairs Shamila N. Chaudhary and Colin F. Jackson said Cheshire played a key role in building and leading the commission's research and analysis work over the past three years.
Cheshire said leading the commission had been a meaningful experience and confirmed she would continue supporting the body as a senior advisor while preparing to leave government service for a private-sector position.
