Afghanistan, Sept. 21 -- The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has warned that environmental pollution is becoming a serious and growing challenge in Afghanistan, highlighting plastic waste and the dumping of rubbish in public areas and waterways.
In a message marking World Cleanup Day on September 20, UNAMA said preventing waste from being dumped on roads, in alleys and waterways, including the Kabul River could help protect the environment, create healthier communities and support a more sustainable future.
