Afghanistan, June 24 -- The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) marked the International Day of Women in Diplomacy by highlighting the role of women in advancing international cooperation, peacebuilding and decision-making, while calling for equal opportunities for Afghan women and girls.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, UNAMA said women diplomats are not only participants in international affairs but also leaders, mediators and advocates for equality whose contributions help shape more inclusive policies and institutions. The mission stressed that meaningful participation of women remains essential for sustainable peace, stability and development.
