Afghanistan, April 30 -- The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) says renewed border clashes between Taliban forces and Pakistani troops have worsened humanitarian conditions and harmed civilians in eastern Afghanistan.
Airstrikes and shelling on April 27 in Asadabad city and parts of Kunar province killed at least seven people and injured 79 others, including women and children.
According to OCHA, the violence has also caused significant damage to civilian infrastructure, including a fuel station, parts of a university dormitory, a religious affairs office, and a drug rehabilitation center. The agency warned that such destruction is further straining already fragile public services.
