Afghanistan, Sept. 14 -- The UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) has warned that millions of people in Afghanistan continue to lack reliable access to safe drinking water, calling for stronger efforts to expand water services and protect the country's increasingly stressed water resources.
UN-Habitat said on Sunday that Afghanistan needs smarter urban planning, better water-resource management and improved waste management to protect water supplies, strengthen sanitation and build healthier communities.
