Afghanistan, June 7 -- Ukraine has accused Russia of carrying out a drone strike on a nuclear fuel storage facility near the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, raising fresh concerns about the safety of nuclear infrastructure amid the ongoing war.
Reuters reported on Sunday that Ukrainian officials said radiation levels in the area remained stable following the incident and that no spent nuclear fuel was being stored at the facility at the time of the attack.
According to Ukrainian authorities, the strike caused partial damage to a building and sparked a fire that was later brought under control. Officials said no increase in radiation levels had been detected after the incident.
