Afghanistan, June 16 -- British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced on Monday that the United Kingdom had signed an agreement to supply enriched uranium for Ukraine's nuclear power plants through 2028, backed by £210 million in government funding.
Speaking during the Group of Seven (G7) summit in France, Starmer said the agreement would help secure Ukraine's electricity generation during its ongoing war with Russia. Before the conflict, Ukraine generated about half of its electricity from 15 nuclear reactors, making the continued operation of those facilities critical to the country's energy needs.
