Afghanistan, June 13 -- The United Arab Emirates has denied reports that billions of dollars were transferred to Iran, rejecting media claims that funds linked to frozen Iranian assets had been released through the Gulf state.

In a statement issued on Saturday, June 12, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs described reports of a $3 billion transfer to Iran as false and said they were not based on credible information.

The denial comes amid intensified diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran to finalize a proposed agreement aimed at easing regional tensions, addressing Iran's nuclear program and securing maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
