Afghanistan, July 19 -- Iran's Atomic Energy Organization said several missiles struck the Darkhovin nuclear power plant under construction in the southwestern province of Khuzestan early Sunday, condemning the attack as the latest assault on the country's nuclear infrastructure.

According to Iranian state media, cited by Al Jazeera, the attack occurred at approximately 3:39 a.m. local time. Iranian authorities did not identify who launched the missiles and provided no immediate information on casualties or the extent of the damage.

The Atomic Energy Organization condemned the strike but did not say whether construction at the facility had been disrupted or whether the site had sustained significant structural damage.
