Afghanistan, June 27 -- U.S. authorities have seized nearly 400 internet domains accused of illegally streaming FIFA World Cup matches, expanding an international crackdown on digital piracy during one of the world's biggest sporting events.

According to the United States Department of Justice, the domains were used to distribute live FIFA World Cup broadcasts without authorization, allowing operators to profit from copyrighted content while bypassing licensed broadcasters, Reuters reported on Friday.
