Afghanistan, Sept. 30 -- The U.S. State Department warns human trafficking risks in Afghanistan are rising, with minorities, children, and women facing forced labour, sexual exploitation, and recruitment by armed groups.

The U.S. State Department, in its latest Trafficking in Persons report released on Tuesday, raised alarming concerns over the worsening situation of human trafficking in Afghanistan.

The report said members of religious and ethnic minorities such as Shia Hazaras, Ahmadis, Sikhs, Hindus, and Baha'is face heightened threats from the Taliban and armed groups like ISIS-K, making them more vulnerable to exploitation.
