Afghanistan, June 4 -- The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has rejected Iran's claim that its forces targeted an American military vessel in the Gulf region, dismissing the allegation as false amid continuing tensions between Washington and Tehran.
According to Al Jazeera, CENTCOM said in a statement that Iranian reports about an attack on a U.S. vessel near Iranian territorial waters in the Gulf of Oman were untrue.
"Iran is lying," CENTCOM said, without providing additional details about the location or activities of U.S. naval assets in the area.
