Afghanistan, Aug. 17 -- The U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding aimed at ending months of fighting expires today, August 17, with no clear agreement on an extension and uncertainty over whether negotiations between Washington and Tehran will resume.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran has not decided whether to restart negotiations with the United States. He said messages are being exchanged through mediators but stressed that this does not amount to formal negotiations.
