Afghanistan, July 29 -- The United States and Saudi Arabia carried out joint airstrikes against Iran-backed armed groups in eastern Iraq, targeting weapons depots and logistics facilities after a wave of drone attacks on U.S. and allied forces, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Wednesday.
In a statement posted on X, CENTCOM said the operation was conducted a day earlier with the participation of the Saudi Armed Forces. The U.S. military said fighter aircraft struck multiple logistics hubs and weapons storage sites used by what it described as Iran-backed militant groups operating in eastern Iraq.
