Afghanistan, April 13 -- Regional efforts are underway to bring United States and Iran back to the negotiating table after talks in Islamabad ended without a breakthrough.

According to The Wall Street Journal, citing informed sources, diplomatic channels remain open despite ongoing differences between Washington and Tehran, with a second round of talks likely in the coming days.

The report said regional countries are actively consulting with the United States to preserve and potentially extend the fragile two-week ceasefire agreed during recent mediation efforts.

Despite the lack of immediate progress, diplomats believe the talks process has not collapsed, and behind-the-scenes engagement continues to prevent renewed escalation.
