Afghanistan, June 26 -- Turkish authorities have detained at least 40 undocumented migrants, including citizens of Afghanistan, during two separate operations in the northwestern border province of Edirne, as Ankara continues its nationwide campaign against irregular migration.
Police said the migrants were transferred to the provincial removal center after administrative procedures, where they are expected to face deportation proceedings. Authorities also arrested two suspected human traffickers in connection with the operations and referred them to the judiciary.
