Afghanistan, June 4 -- U.S. President Donald Trump said ongoing negotiations between Washington and Tehran are progressing positively and suggested he could eventually meet Mojtaba Khamenei, whom he described as playing a key role in approving decisions related to the talks.
Speaking on the "Pod Force One" podcast, Trump said he had never met Mojtaba Khamenei but claimed reports suggested he was involved in providing final approval for negotiations with the United States.
"At some point I will probably meet Mojtaba Khamenei," Trump said, adding that Iran had accepted it would not possess nuclear weapons and that developments surrounding the country were moving in a positive direction.
