Afghanistan, April 24 -- Trump orders US Navy to target mine-laying vessels in Strait of Hormuz, escalating tensions despite ceasefire efforts and ongoing diplomatic uncertainty with Iran.
Donald Trump said he has ordered the US Navy to destroy any vessel involved in laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said there should be "no doubt" about the directive, instructing naval forces to act immediately against any such threats, including small boats.
He added that mine-clearing operations are ongoing and ordered a threefold increase in demining efforts to secure the vital carridor shipping route.
