UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on Monday he will not step down despite rising political pressure connected to controversy surrounding Jeffrey Epstein-linked diplomatic appointments.
Speaking to Labour Party lawmakers, Starmer said he would not abandon his responsibilities, stressing his government remains focused on governing and delivering policy commitments.
The political row intensified after Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar called for Starmer's resignation over the appointment of Peter Mandelson as Britain's ambassador to Washington.
