Afghanistan, May 24 -- Shehbaz Sharif said Sunday that Pakistan will continue efforts to promote regional peace and expressed hope that the next round of talks between the United States and Iran will soon be held in Pakistan.
In a message posted on X, Sharif praised efforts by Donald Trump and said the US leader had spoken with regional leaders from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Pakistan regarding peace efforts.
Sharif said Pakistan army chief Asim Munir had represented Islamabad in diplomatic contacts and played an important role in advancing negotiations.
