Afghanistan, July 16 -- Saudi Arabia's King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has distributed food assistance to 154 vulnerable families in Afghanistan's northern Balkh province, as humanitarian agencies continue to warn of widespread food insecurity across the country.
KSrelief said on Wednesday that the assistance benefited 1,078 people, including returning refugees, internally displaced persons, low-income households and orphaned children. The food packages were distributed under the center's Food Security and Emergency Support Project in Afghanistan.
