Afghanistan, May 31 -- Russian security authorities have detained a man accused of attempting to build an improvised explosive device and planning an attack on the country's Justice Ministry, as Moscow continues to tighten domestic security measures amid the war in Ukraine.

The suspect, identified as Vitaly Larin, was arrested in Moscow on May 28 and has been placed in pre-trial detention until July 29, 2026, pending the outcome of the investigation, according to Russian media reports.
