Afghanistan, April 15 -- More than 100 Afghan human rights advocates and women's rights defenders have issued an open letter to Melania Trump, urging her to use her influence to support women and girls in Afghanistan.
Addressed to the First Lady, the letter highlights that its message is partly inspired by her past efforts to spotlight children affected by conflict, expressing hope her voice can refocus global attention on vulnerable Afghans.
The signatories say Afghan girls who once aspired to become doctors, teachers, and journalists are now deprived of education, while mothers struggle with rising malnutrition and worsening living conditions.
