Afghanistan, April 24 -- Red Cross sends emergency aid to 17,000 families in eastern Afghanistan, as border clashes disrupt access, displace communities, and deepen humanitarian needs.

The International Committee of the Red Cross said it has delivered emergency assistance to 17,000 families affected by fighting in Nuristan Province.

Aid shipments, including food, hygiene kits, and essential supplies, have reached remote districts such as Kamdesh and Barg-e-Matal, where access had been severely restricted.

The organization said trucks carrying relief items have arrived in affected areas, with displaced families among the primary recipients of the assistance.
