Afghanistan, May 12 -- Polish border guards said they detained four Afghan migrants for illegally crossing the Belarus border and arrested a Polish driver suspected of human smuggling.
Polish border guards said on Monday they detained four Afghan migrants accused of illegally entering the country through the Belarus border and arrested a Polish citizen suspected of human smuggling.
According to the border agency, the migrants crossed into Poland on foot before being picked up by a Polish driver who was allegedly transporting them toward other European countries.
Polish authorities said Afghan migrants frequently use the Belarus route to reach Germany and other Western European states.
