Afghanistan, March 9 -- A seventh American service member has died in the ongoing war involving Iran and the United States, the U.S. Central Command said, more than a week after the conflict began.
The Pentagon said the soldier died from injuries sustained during Iran's counter-attack on March 1 targeting US troops stationed in Saudi Arabia following earlier strikes against Iran.
Six other US troops were previously killed in an Iranian drone attack in Kuwait, according to the Pentagon, marking one of the deadliest incidents involving American forces since the conflict escalated.
