Afghanistan, July 27 -- The United States has recorded 18 military deaths and 624 wounded service members since the war with Iran began on February 28, according to a combined reading of updated Pentagon casualty data.
The Pentagon recently added more than 140 wounded service members to its public casualty records and created a new "Overseas Operations" category for casualties recorded from July 7, according to The Associated Press. The changes have complicated comparisons with earlier figures and raised questions about how the U.S. military is classifying casualties from the conflict.
