Afghanistan, Oct. 19 -- Pakistan's foreign minister welcomed a new ceasefire with Kabul, saying the next meeting will be hosted by Turkey as Islamabad awaits a monitoring mechanism to verify commitments.

Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar welcomed the recent ceasefire agreement with the Taliban, announcing that the next round of talks will be hosted by Turkey.

In a post on X on Sunday, Dar said Islamabad is awaiting the establishment of a "concrete monitoring mechanism" to verify the Taliban's commitments under the agreement.

He stated that the mechanism should ensure measures to prevent terrorist threats emanating from Afghanistan territory against Pakistan, underscoring the need for tangible steps to maintain regional stability.
