Afghanistan, Feb. 18 -- Pakistan says future trade and dialogue with Afghanistan depend on eliminating militant threats, as security concerns increasingly overshadow regional economic cooperation efforts.

Pakistani Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan said Islamabad will not compromise on national security in diplomatic or trade engagement with Taliban.

He described militant attacks allegedly originating from Afghanistan territory as unacceptable, saying peace and commerce depend on eliminating cross-border militancy.

The minister urged authorities to prevent armed groups from using Afghanistan territory, adding Pakistan has repeatedly raised these concerns with supporting evidence.
