Afghanistan, July 2 -- Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Iran and the United States have agreed to resume indirect negotiations at the earliest opportunity after funeral and burial ceremonies for Iran's former supreme leader, according to a statement issued on Thursday.
In a post published on X, Pakistan's foreign ministry said Qatari and Pakistani mediators met separately with Iranian and U.S. negotiators in Doha, where they discussed the next phase of the diplomatic process.
According to the ministry, the meetings focused on issues related to the implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, which it said builds on progress achieved during the Lucerne Lake meeting in Switzerland.
