Afghanistan, Oct. 10 -- Pakistan's army said it killed 30 Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan militants in an overnight operation in Orakzai, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, after recent deadly militant attacks.
Pakistan's army said on Friday it killed 30 militants from Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) during an operation in the Orakzai area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The military said the raid was carried out late Thursday following intelligence reports about the presence of militants in the region. Nine Pakistani soldiers were also killed in the fighting, it added.
According to Pakistani media, the operation was launched in retaliation for a recent TTP attack that killed 11 Pakistani soldiers in the northwest.
