Afghanistan, Aug. 22 -- Pakistan's Foreign Ministry clarified that the Islamabad meeting was informal and carried no official status, stressing there is no cause for concern over its implications.
Pakistan's Foreign Office has confirmed the upcoming oppostion conference in Islamabad, calling it an "open event." Foreign Office spokesperson Shafaqat Ali clarified during a press briefing that the government is not hosting the conference, stressing that a local think tank is responsible for organizing the gathering. He added that participants were issued visas and permitted entry in line with routine procedures.
