Afghanistan, Aug. 19 -- Pakistan has recorded two new polio cases, raising the total to 21 in 2025, as health officials stress repeated vaccination remains vital against the incurable disease.
Pakistani media have reported two new confirmed cases of polio, bringing the total number of infections in the country this year to 21.
According to health officials, the new cases involve a six-year-old girl from the Patan Union Council in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and a 21-month-old girl from Matli-2 Union Council in Badin, Sindh.
With these additions, Pakistan has reported 13 cases from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, six from Sindh, and one each from Punjab and Gilgit-Baltistan in 2025.
