Afghanistan, May 19 -- Shehbaz Sharif and Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani discussed regional developments and ongoing diplomatic efforts related to the Iran crisis.

Sharif wrote on X on Monday, May 18, that the two leaders discussed bilateral cooperation and emphasized dialogue and diplomacy as the only path toward lasting peace and stability in the region.

Pakistan has recently intensified efforts to mediate between the United States and Iran amid fears of a wider regional conflict.

As part of those efforts, Pakistani Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi visited Iran two days ago to convey Tehran's views regarding the negotiations to Washington.
