Afghanistan, July 30 -- Regional elections in Pakistan-administered Kashmir have been marred by deadly clashes between protesters and security forces, with more than 30 people reportedly killed around Rawalakot, according to the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), ahead of the next round of voting.
Reuters reported on July 29 that violence erupted during protests ahead of the second round of elections. Pakistani authorities confirmed that one security official was killed and five others wounded, while at least three protesters were reported killed in Mirpur.
