Afghanistan, April 3 -- The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) has called for urgent humanitarian aid for families displaced by recent fighting between Taliban forces and Pakistan in Afghanistan. The group said on Friday that thousands of families have been forced from their homes by the latest border violence.
According to the NRC, many of the displaced are now living in poorly equipped tents and in areas with little or no access to basic services, including shelter, clean water and healthcare. The aid group warned that emergency support is now critical to meet their most basic needs.
The appeal comes as heavy rain and flooding continue to affect parts of southern and eastern Afghanistan, worsening conditions for already vulnerable families...
