Afghanistan, Aug. 16 -- Israeli airstrikes were reported in southern Lebanon early Sunday, with explosions heard around the Nabatieh area and the strategic Ali al-Taher heights, as tensions continued to rise despite a fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.
Al Jazeera reported early Sunday, August 16, 2026, citing Lebanese sources that the latest explosions were caused by Israeli airstrikes in the area. Lebanese media also reported strikes near the southern town of Kafr Rumman.
