Afghanistan, Sept. 6 -- Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban's chief spokesman, said their government shares significant similarities with the Islamic Republic of Iran because both political systems are based on their interpretation of Islamic law, describing those similarities as an advantage for expanding relations with Tehran.
Speaking in an interview with Iran's state broadcaster, Mujahid said the Taliban is seeking stronger political, economic and regional cooperation with Iran and would not allow relations between Kabul and Tehran to be weakened.
