Afghanistan, Feb. 27 -- Zabihullah Mujahid claims 40 Pakistani troops killed and 15 military posts captured in escalating clashes along the Durand Line.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said Thursday that Taliban forces killed 40 Pakistani soldiers and seized 15 military posts during ongoing clashes along the disputed Durand Line.

In a statement posted on X, Mujahid said the operation targeted Pakistani military positions in border areas, adding that several troops were also wounded or detained.

He claimed Taliban fighters had taken control of key installations and captured weapons and equipment during the offensive. Earlier reports from Mujahid had stated that seven posts were initially seized, a figure later revised to 15.
