Afghanistan, April 12 -- Lebanon's health ministry said Israeli strikes have killed at least 2,020 people since March 2, including 165 children and 85 rescue workers, highlighting a mounting civilian toll.

The ministry said on Sunday that 6,436 people have also been wounded in attacks across Lebanon, as the pace and intensity of strikes continue to rise.

Officials added that Israeli attacks on Saturday alone killed 97 people and injured 133 others, pointing to a sharp escalation in daily violence.

Last week, authorities reported that nearly 300 people were killed in a single day of bombardment on Beirut, marking one of the deadliest incidents in recent weeks.
