Afghanistan, March 11 -- Kurdish armed groups say they are preparing to confront Iran's government and are waiting for a broader uprising, according to a report by Agence France-Presse. Tehran, however, considers these Kurdish factions to be terrorist organizations and has repeatedly accused them of threatening national security.

AFP reported that, like several other Iranian Kurdish armed factions, the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) maintains bases in the mountainous areas of Iraq's Kurdistan region. The group is also believed to have access to hideouts inside Kurdish-populated areas of Iran.
