Afghanistan, March 14 -- The Taliban's Defense Ministry claims its forces killed 14 Pakistani soldiers during cross-border attacks following recent Pakistani airstrikes in Afghanistan.
In a statement released Saturday, the ministry said the attacks targeted Pakistani border positions near Afghanistan's Kunar and Nangarhar provinces, areas that have recently witnessed heightened tensions.
According to Taliban officials, 11 Pakistani soldiers were also wounded during the clashes and one Pakistani military outpost was captured during the operation.
Pakistani authorities have acknowledged drone attacks carried out by Taliban forces inside parts of Pakistan but have not confirmed the casualty figures reported by the Taliban.
