Afghanistan, Feb. 27 -- According to reports from Kabul, forces have restarted attacks on Pakistani border posts in Khost and Paktia, as Islamabad warns of decisive retaliation.
A spokesman for the Taliban governor in Khost province said the forces have resumed attacks on Pakistani military posts along the border. The announcement signals a renewed phase of cross-border fighting between the two sides.
According to state-run Radio Television Afghanistan, the attacks began in the districts of Zazi Maidan, Ali Sher, and Terezi in Khost province. Local Taliban officials in Paktia also reported a new of retaliatory strikes on Pakistani security checkpoints in Dand-e Patan district.
