Afghanistan, April 8 -- Iranian officials are portraying the two-week ceasefire with the United States as a political and military victory, presenting the pause as proof that the war ended on terms largely shaped by Tehran.

Al Jazeera reported on Wednesday that Iranian officials say Washington accepted the general framework of Tehran's 10-point proposal as the basis for the next round of negotiations.

U.S. President Donald Trump has also described the ceasefire as beneficial for Washington, saying major differences had narrowed and suggesting the temporary halt could open the way to a broader settlement.
