Afghanistan, June 21 -- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi met Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis in the Swiss resort of Burgenstock on Sunday, ahead of a new round of negotiations between Iran and the United States aimed at implementing a recently signed memorandum of understanding.
According to Iran's Tasnim News Agency, the meeting was the first official engagement of the Iranian delegation after arriving in Switzerland for talks with U.S. officials. The negotiations are expected to focus on key issues including Iran's nuclear program, sanctions relief, economic cooperation and regional security arrangements.
