Afghanistan, May 10 -- Iran warned on Sunday that countries enforcing United States sanctions against Tehran could face difficulties moving ships through the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, according to Iranian media reports.

Tasnim News Agency quoted an Iranian military spokesperson as saying that governments cooperating with Washington's sanctions policy should expect consequences affecting maritime transit in the Gulf region.

The spokesperson said none of the "enemy's objectives" had been achieved during the recent conflict and claimed Iran's political and military structure remained stable despite weeks of fighting and regional tensions.
