Afghanistan, March 29 -- Iran's parliament speaker says the country is ready for any US ground troop entry, as the conflict with Washington deepens further.

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Iran's parliament speaker, has issued a sharp warning that Iranian armed forces are prepared and waiting for any possible US ground troop entry into Iranian territory, as military tensions continue to rise.

Ghalibaf said what he described as Donald Trump's plan to break Iran had failed, and argued that Washington had not achieved its strategic objectives despite weeks of fighting, economic pressure and military escalation.
