Afghanistan, June 10 -- Iran accused the United States on Wednesday of damaging diplomatic efforts to end the conflict between the two countries, following a fresh exchange of military strikes across the Gulf region.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said Washington's military actions were harming diplomacy and making it more difficult to achieve a negotiated settlement. He argued that successful diplomacy requires a minimum level of stability and trust and cannot advance amid the continued use of force.
